First Fever
Being new parents seems like nothing but new experiences and firsts. Monday I picked Cooper up from daycare and while strapping him in the car seat I heard this ominous stomach gurgle and smelled it before I felt the warmth all over my shirt and put my hand in a large puddle of baby puke. I knew something was wrong when he just laid there listlessly. He fell asleep and didn't wake up as I carried him to his bed. When he woke up I checked his temperature- 102!
I know that having a fever means your body is making sure that the bacteria/virus it's fighting has an inhospitable environment- BUT when he was just laying so helpless in my arms and burning up I had this horrible fear that he would suffer brain damage if I didn't fix it immediately! GiGi and Grandpa Chris happened to stop by and kept me company (really they kept me calm) until Jim got home. Cooper just slept through my anxiety attack and 24 hours later the fever broke and now he just has a cough. Definitely not anxious to have a second of this fun part of parenthood!
